Driver Recognition Programs

The Gene England Million Miler Club

These truck drivers could safely get to the moon and back.
The Gene England Million Miler Club currently recognizes our C.R. England company drivers and Independent Contractors who run for C.R. England who have driven more than one million miles without an accident—that’s enough miles to travel to the moon and back four times.

From now on, every driver who reaches one million safe miles will be initiated into the exclusive Gene England Million Miler Club.  Previous million milers are already grandfathered in.  Each million miler received a one of a kind Rockwell watch, designed entirely for The Gene England Million Milers.  The stainless steel watch contains a C.R. England crest on the face and the writing “C.R. England The Gene England Million Miler Club” on the back.  The first watch was given to someone very special, the man from whom the club gets its name, Mr. Gene England.  Each million miler is profiled in our monthly newsletter, “The Roundtable” and recognized in monthly safety meetings.

WHAT IS A MILLION MILER?
The ATA million mile award program recognizes drivers who have driven one million miles without a disqualifying accident.  Here at C.R. England we have drivers who have reached up to four million miles.  It takes an average of eight years for a solo driver to reach one million safe miles; a team can usually accomplish the task in five to six years.

 Roadside Heroes

As truck drivers you get to see a lot while you’re on the road—from beautiful mountain vistas to the ocean coasts, unfortunately you also witness traffic accidents and people in distress. And we often receive reports from the road about our drivers’ good deeds. We recognized these drivers through written letters, bringing them to recognize them, or through small giveaways as a token of our appreciation. We appreciate our drivers for doing whatever it takes to go the extra mile.

Drivers of the year and month

Yearly, and every month, we select truck drivers to receive awards based on their exemplary commitment to truck driving safety and their service record. Below are our drivers of the month.

C.R. England has recognized Peter Busch and Tavis Campfield as Company Drivers of the Month for October 2012.  Busch and Campfield were selected from C.R. England’s fleet of more than 7,500 drivers nationwide.

“Peter Busch consistently performs at an exceptional level," said Brandon Harrison, Chief Operating Officer– C.R. England. "He is always on time for his loads, communicates early and often on any issues and has the company's goals and values in mind when he makes decisions. Peter is a top performer in On-Time service and fuel Mile per Gallon and has no chargeable accidents. Peter manages his Hours of Service days in advance and always knows exactly what he's able to accomplish safely. He is a terrific example of a driving professional."

Busch was also recognized by his Driver Manager Michael Plebanski who said, "Peter has been with our fleet since the beginning and is a key cornerstone of our team. He is a new student trainer and has been instrumental in designing how we will manage driver training and retention for years to come. He always has a pleasant attitude and is eager to help with anything we ask of him."

Busch received his CDL through England Premier Truck Driving School and has been driving for England since July 2011. He currently drives in the Midwest Regional Division. Previous to working for C.R. England, Busch worked in construction. Busch makes his home in West Bend, WI.

Campfield drives in the National Division and has been with the company for just over seven months. Harrison noted, "Tavis is always positive and upbeat and has all the right skills to be a successful professional driver. When a challenge is thrown his way, he is always able to find a solution." Campfield makes his home in Snowflake, AZ.

C.R. England has recognized Independent Contractor Tracy Roberts as the Independent Contractor Driver of the Month for October 2012.

"Tracy is a great Independent Contractor," said Brandon Harrison, President – C.R. England National and Regional Divisions. "Tracy has figured out how to run his truck and take care of C.R. England customers. He always trip plans and keep the driver manager in the loop whenever there is a problem."

Tracy is an excellent driver and works hard to succeed and manage his routes for C.R. England. Roberts drives in the National Division and makes his home in Sandy, UT.

Adopt-A-Driver Program

The Adopt-A-Driver program gives elementary age classes an opportunity to “adopt” interested drivers. The driver sends a post card once per week to the elementary class with a note describing the different places he/she sees, information about the beautiful country, weather, history, truck driving information and other topics. This gives the students a chance to learn about their country in a fun learning environment and allows the driver to teach students about his/her job on the road. The driver will visit the class at least one time per school year to meet the students in person. C.R. England rewards and thanks drivers that participate in the Adopt-A-Driver program.

For drivers or schools that are interested in participating in the program, contact Jeanie Bowen at 801-974-3824 or jeanie.bowen@crengland.com to get signed up!

Fuel Promotion Program

C.R. England offers a quarterly fuel incentive program for drivers. This program offers incentives for MPG usage improvement as well as an overall MPG improvement quarter over quarter. In order to qualify, drivers must meet specific criteria for safety, attendance, on-time and fuel improvement. At the end of the quarter drivers draw for prizes including the grand prize of a Harley Davidson.
