C.R. England is proud to be a Carrier in the SmartWay Transport Partner program. SmartWay has recognized us for our outstanding environmental performance utilizing some of the most available fuel saving strategies. C.R. England has the highest efficiency/environmental performance score available. As a Transport Partner, we have committed to continually find ways to improve our environmental performance.

C.R England is currently doing our part to reduce fuel emissions including:

• Reducing idle time for all trucks
  • Webasto bunk heaters
  • Engine shutdown
  • Driver teams and tag teams
• Reducing the maximum speed on all trucks
• Purchasing more fuel efficient equipment
• Testing and implementing aerodynamic technologies
• Expanding our intermodal service dimension
• Utilizing our technologies
  • Un-tethered trailer tracking – improved utilization of trailers
  • Matching driver with loads more efficiently
  • Reducing out of route and deadhead miles
• Using paperless logs
  

Through these initiatives, C.R. England has saved an average of 627,000 gallons of fuel per month in 2009.

C.R. England is a recognized leader in environmental initiatives and was asked to present at the Eye for Transport “lean and green” conferences as well as the i2 Planet conference.

Taking prudent steps to preserve natural resources is good citizenship and good business.
